In the Deep Doodles series, doodle-like shapes appear in digitally modelled spaces. These gestures set up in a spontaneous movement, like smooth, casual graffiti tags and reveal fragments of 17th-century flower still-lives. In the first place the digital brushstrokes and random-looking compositions seem to undermine the old masterful prowess. But the fragmented view on some bit of the masterpieces dictates a different imaginary construction of the still life painting and thus motivates a renewed focus on the mechanisms of our collective image memory.
